SSI XR Nitrox Diving Course
The line between recreational & technical diving is sometimes difficult to determine. Diver descending along a coral wall in clear, warm water will not find a warning sign painted at 40 meters. Just as Recreational Divers have crossed the boundary into ¨Tech¨, it is often the case that technical diving conditions exist within recreational limits. A dive to 36 meters on a deteriorating wreck in low visibility, cold water and heavy current certainly tests the classic defenition of a receational dive!
The SSI XR Programs have been designed to adress two distinct objectives. First, they will provide all divers with the Knowledge, Skills, Equipment Familiarity and Experience to minimize risk, increase confidence and have more fun in challenging XR conditions. Second, they will provide a solid foundation for those divers who wish to participate in more advanced technical training and further extend their range underwater.

After Downloading the MySSI App, you will have to enroll with the XR Nitrox Diving Course, then you will get the digital Learning Material with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
After this course, you will be able to:
- Independently Plan & Conduct Decompression dives
- In a Twinset or XR Sidemount Total Diving System
- To a maximum of 40 meters
- Using 1 Stage Tank with decompression gas mixtures up to 100% Oxygen
- For a maximum of accumulated decompression time of 15 minutes
- With an equally or more qualified dive buddy
